This band ended up being slotted between 40 Theives and Rehab for Quitters, both bands that I wanted to see. To be honest… I didn’t pay much attention. It’s hard to be interested in a two-piece band… and my friends all kept going out for smokes so I joined them. (Not the smoking, just the going out.)
I <3 argyle on male drummers. I don’t know why. Maybe because it looks slightly out of place, and I just like that aesthetic. I made sure I was at the venue early enough to check out these guys, which I’m super happy about because their live performance is just as great as their recorded songs online.
NXNE was pretty awesome. This was the first band I saw at this show. Didn’t really PLAN on seeing them, but I also wanted a good parking spot. But they’re awesome so it’s all good.
What can I say… don’t see a lot of female drummers. And she could really kick it. Or hit it. What’s a good compliment for drummers??
The frustrating part about photography in a venue with big windows open to the street? Trying to adjust for lighting when the sun goes down!
I’ve heard these guys on Indie Love Radio (www.indielove.ca) but never seen them live before. I should have read their bio online first, the masks would have made a lot more sense!
This shot is a pretty close approximation of one I took of him at the Smiling Buddha, playing in S.N.A.K. I’m happy I was able to get another version of it!
