About Polly Plumps
I’m 18 with a head full of ideas, but they were drivin’ me insane. So I looked around online and found the lovely web mistress rokky, who accepted me as her American liaison for music reviews both local and international. I love music, listening to it, pretending to play it in my car, but most of all analyzing and critiquing it. I love picking up a random cd or downloading an album that somebody else recommends that you know squat about and walking away with an album you’ll cherish for a long time. I find that music found in the most remote and out of the way place can bring the best memories, and being constantly surrounded by it is always a good start.
Currently I’m living at home with parents after dropping out of the University of Illinois for a semester. Too much firewater and not enough studying, y’know? So I’m back at home and am just starting my job in a manufacturing plant, doing manual labor to keep my muscles busy and my mind free to think about… music! I also enjoy reading anything that keeps up the pace and isn’t too dry. One day, I hope to get a job in a newspaper writing about world events, but until then, I’ll be sharpening my writing skills up here. I have a load of music sitting in my library, but am always on the lookout for anything new and interesting.
Personally, I enjoy a lot of music, my deep love being that of anything with a guitar, bass, and drums. But the main seller for me when it comes to music is the energy and sincerity that comes across. I don’t like so much a genre of music so much as a mood that the music puts you in. If it’s fun and gets you moving, I like it; if it’s slower and more introspective, I can appreciate it too. Throw anything at me; I’ll always give it a couple of listens.
